1. The role of protective glue


In order to form a mud cake with low permeability, the particle size of the clay particles in the drilling fluid must have an appropriate particle size distribution, and a lot of fine particles are required.

 

2. Increasing the filtrate viscosity can reduce the fluid loss


The fluid loss is inversely proportional to the 0.5 power of the viscosity of the drilling fluid filtrate. After adding an organic filter reducer to the drilling fluid, the viscosity of the filtrate increases and the filtration capacity decreases.

 

3. Improve the degree of hydration of mobile soil particles in drilling fluid


This reduces the fluid loss, and the filtrate superplasticizer is adsorbed on the soil particles moving in the drilling fluid, increasing the degree of hydration of the particles, making the hydration film thicker, and the formed filter cake is easily deformed under high pressure, and the penetration of the filter cake reduced sex.

 

4. The pore blocking effect of the fluid loss reducer molecule itself


The molecular size of the organic polymer fluid loss control agent is within the range of colloidal particles, after adding these external treatment agents. On the one hand, the long chain of the molecule is wedged into the gap of the filter cake, on the other hand, the long chain is curled into a ball to block the micropores of the filter cake, making the filter cake thin and fine, thereby reducing the fluid loss.
